Terms and Conditions for Custom Pet Portraits
Let’s Make Something Beautiful Together!
Introduction
Thanks for your interest in my custom pet portraits. Before we get started, let’s go over some simple terms and conditions to make sure we’re on the same page and everything goes smoothly. By commissioning me, you’re agreeing to these terms – I know it’s long, but please read to the end!

Commission Process
Send me Your Ideas
To get started, just send me a request with all the details! Let me know the size, and share at least one clear, high-quality photo of your pet. You don’t need an expensive camera, I can draw from phone photos, but the better the photo, the easier it is for me to make your portrait perfect. You do need to have the permission of the photographer, especially if it’s been taken by a professional. If I don’t feel the image is good enough for me to use, I will say so, I want to do the best job possible for both you and your pet.
Agreeing on the Details – and Price
Once I’ve got your ideas, I’ll send you a quote that covers the cost, timeline, and any extra fees (like shipping or framing). Once we’re both happy with everything, we’ll move forward with the commission.
Deposit Policy
To lock in your commission, I ask for a deposit of 25% of the total price. This helps cover materials and prep work. Deposits are non-refundable, unless the cancelation is due to unforeseen circumstances on my side of course
Keeping You Updated
Throughout the process, I’ll share work in progress photos by email. If you have feedback, please let me know, it’s easier to make changes as I go. If you’d like big changes, there might be a small extra fee, but we’ll chat about it first.

Payment Terms
Final Payment
Once your portrait is finished and ready to go, the remaining balance is due before delivery. I accept payments via bank transfer.
Extra Fees
Sometimes extra costs pop up for things like:
-
If you need the portrait drawn in less than two weeks
-
Additional revisions
-
Framing or special packaging
We’ll discuss all of this before moving forward, so there are no surprises!

Timeline and Delivery
Estimated Timeframe
I’ll give you an estimated timeline for when your portrait will be finished. While I do my best to stick to this, life happens! If there are delays, I’ll keep you updated by email. If your portraits is a gift for a special occasion, please let me know so I can factor this in. Please be aware that Christmas is a particularly busy time, so please book early to avoid disappointment!
Getting Your Portrait
Finished unframed portraits will be shipped straight to you, this is free to the UK (Royal Mail Tracked 24), I can ship outside the UK at an additional cost. I prefer to send portraits unframed as coloured pencil drawings need to be framed behind glass, which makes shipping them more difficult. I also don’t know your tastes, so you might not like what I choose! I can however arrange framing if required at an additional cost, so please let me know when booking your portrait.
Unfortunately shipping to the EU and NI isn’t currently possible due to GPSR regulations.
Damage or Delays During Shipping
If there are any delays of damage during shipping, please contact me as soon as possible. If there’s any damage to the portrait, then please take a photo and we can arrange for a replacement if necessary.

Cancellations and Refunds
Changing Your Mind
If you decide to cancel, just let me know in writing (email’s fine). Although deposits are non-refundable, I’ll try to be as fair as possible depending on how far along I am with the portrait.
Refunds
Refunds aren’t available for completed or almost-completed portraits. However, if I’m unable to finish your piece for any reason, you’ll get a full refund.
Intellectual Property Rights
Artwork Ownership
Once payment is complete, the physical portrait is all yours! I still own the rights to the artwork itself, so reproducing or selling it isn’t allowed unless we agree in writing. If you’d like prints made for other family members, I can arrange this at an additional cost, which will include professional scanning and fine art prints.
Using Images of Your Portrait
I may use photos of your commissioned artwork (including work in progress) for my portfolio, social media, or promotional purposes – unless you request privacy. Let me know if you’d prefer to keep things private, either entirely of if the portrait is a gift for a special occasion and I’ll respect that.
